The cleaning efficiency of activated carbon:
Activated carbon keeps back unrequested natural tasting and smelling substances such as humic acid and also a lot of carbon hydrides. Halocarbon which is hardly biodegradable, halogenated ethylene compounds, a lot of pesticide, manganese compounds and other suspended matters - even particulate plumb - will be filtered. Leavings of oxidants such as ozone and chlorine used for seed elimination in waterworks react with the carbon surface and are removed in this way. But the cleaning efficiency of activated carbon is not only adsorption of organic micro-contamination, it also works in mechanical way. Activated carbon filtration is all-purpose and regenerative and is regarded as the ne plus ultra for removing anthropogenic contaminants from tap water.
